A Traditional Breakfast
Start the day with breakfast served in our Lakeland green-stone slate Dining Room. With hand made oak tables, shinning cutlery and modern china set the table for you to experience a truly Cumbrian breakfast.
Paul prepares home made jams, marmalade fresh bread and a tasty tomato sauce to accompany
the freshly cooked locally sourced produce.
To start your breakfast choose from a selection of fruit juices, cereals, fresh fruit & yogurt on the buffet table.
For your cooked breakfast we offer:
One or Two rashers of locally-cured bacon, griddled and served with Cumberland Sausage and black pudding (made in Ambleside), free range eggs (from Windermere), tomatoes and tasty chestnut mushrooms and fried bread, or just pick your favorite bits, Smaller appetite – just ask for a half size breakfast
Our very own vegetarian breakfast of homemade bean & potato fritter, holumi cheese, fried egg, tomato, mushrooms, fried bread & Vegetarian black pudding
Poached or Scrambled Eggs
Free-range eggs from Bannerigg farm in Windermere, served on granary or white toast, keep it simple or add on the side your favorite breakfast items from our Cumbrian breakfast.
Local eggs, tomatoes and tasty flat mushrooms, topped with fried bread, all cooked in vegetable oil.
Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Egg garnished with capers
Boiled Eggs with soldiers (for the young at heart)
Served plain or with cheese or your favorite item from our Cumbrian breakfast .
Manx kippers, freshly grilled and topped with butter.
Creamy Mushrooms on Toast
Cooked with coarse grain Cumberland Mustard and finished with cream, served with granary, Maybe add a tasty Cumberland Sausage or a Rasher of Bacon
Cheese on Toast
Mild Cheddar Cheese grilled on Granary or white toast
Breakfast is served with granary and white toast from an Ambleside family-run bakery, topped with traditionally made butter from Winter Tarn Farm at Penrith
To compliment your breakfast, the buffet table also has Paul’s home-made bread, along with home-made jams and flavored marmalade’s.
To complete your breakfast we offer a choice of Lakeland loose leaf tea or a cafetiere of Westmorland- blend coffee, blended and roasted by Farrer’s in Kendal. Coffee is served with cream or milk. Lemon is available for tea. Decaffeinated tea and coffee, fruit teas & Green Tea are also available.
We also have available gluten free cereal, sausage & bread ~ but we do need to know in advance that you require these items
