We stayed for 2 nights from 13/08/2010 to attend a nearby wedding. It would have been impossible for Paul & Vicky to do more for us. The facilities and accommodation were excellent, the bar reasonably priced and the breakfast (try the home made marmalade) far surpasses many 4* hotels we have used in the past. It was our first visit but it will not be the last. Paul & Vicky make it feel like home!

Have just returned from a two-night stay at Elder Grove. My single room was lovely, especially the bathroom and there were lots of thoughtful 'extras' such as a fan for very hot weather and lovely bottles of soap and body lotion. Vicky and Paul were the ideal hosts, friendly and helpful but never intrusive. Must mention the breakfasts - excellent and huge! Home-made bread and jams very yummy. An excellent base for a visit to the Lakes.

We have been visiting Elder Grove two or three times a year since 1988 and are looking forward to our next stay. Always a warm welcome and great hospitality at this comfortable hotel. Paul’s excellent Cumbrian breakfast sets us up for a day on the fells. Highly recommended.

First visited the Elder Grove in 1975, it was fantastic and still is. It's become our second home. We had our honeymoon there 25 years ago and have been back every year since. You always know that the service and welcome will be second to none. Love the place! Margaret and Ken
