How to find us as Elder Grove
Ambleside is easily reached from the M6.
FROM THE SOUTH, leave the M6 at Junction 36, follow the A590-591 towards Kendal, Windermere and onto Ambleside, Enter the towns one way system opposite the BP filling station, keeping in the right hand lane travel in a complete circle back onto Lake Road, keeping in the right hand lane Elder Grove is on the last house on the right just before the junction and the filling station (on the left).
FROM THE NORTH , leave the M6 at junction 40 (Penrith)follow the signs for Keswick (A66) and Ambleside (A591). To avoid travelling through Keswick turn off at Threlkeld, travelling through St John’s in the Vale, joining the A591 at Thirlspot. Proceed through the town centre of Ambleside towards Windermere. Elder Grove is on your right hand side, just before the turning to Coniston and Langdale and before the filling station on the left.
Travelling by Train and Bus
The nearest railway station is in Windermere, and the main line station is Oxenholme. From the railway station there is a bus service running into Ambleside and from Easter to October buses are every 20 minutes, there are also taxi’s available and a cycle hire shop. The main bus stop in Ambleside is in Kings Street, less than 5 minutes walk from Elder Grove. There are bicycle hire shops in Ambleside; the nearest car hire is in Kendal.
